12 April 2003 Claude Moraes MEP addresses the tenth anniversary TUC Black Workers' Conference in LiverpoolClaude Moraes MEP was one of the keynote speakers at the 10th Trades Union Congress Black Workers Conference. He praised the fact that the TUC was one of the first UK organisations to lobby for an Article 13 Race Equality Directive in the early 1990s. He said "The Directive is now a reality, thanks to the work of trade unionists and others who believe in a minimum level of protection across the EU. The Conference was addressed by Bill Morris, the TGWU General Secretary and Trevor Phillips the new CRE Chair. For more information on the work of the TUC in this and other areas see:
