Welcome to my first blog! In this blog the aim is to give you more information from time to time on my views on recent current affairs, parliamentary updates on key votes, report backs and other political activities.

The past few weeks have been a difficult time for those of us in the Labour Party. We had some disappointing results in both the English local elections and in the European elections. In the European elections it was with great sadness that we will no longer benefit from the considerable talents of Richard Corbett, Glyn Ford and Neena Gill. All three were highly regarded by their colleagues in the Labour Party, the EPLP and in the European Parliament. I want to add my own commiserations to them and am sure they will go on to great things in the future and will continue to be active supporters of Britain’s role in Europe.
